BandLab, a music creation platform based in Singapore, has announced new integrations with Airbit, a beat marketplace acquired by BandLab Technologies earlier this year.
Starting on October 2nd, users of BandLab can now embed their beats directly in BandLab posts from Airbit. This integration allows Airbit creators to reach a wider audience and use BandLab Boost to promote their posts to trending feeds.
BandLab claims that with the addition of Airbit embeds on its platform, producers can share their beats with a larger audience, tapping into BandLab’s community of over 60 million creators. Airbit offers a vast catalog of over a million beats from producers and beatmakers worldwide.
The platform boasts over 800,000 users and has already sold more than 2 million beats. Producers on Airbit have earned over $50 million to date. In addition to embeds on BandLab, producers on Airbit will now have the ability to “Share to BandLab” any beat from Airbit’s catalog of over 1 million beats available for licensing or purchase. BandLab will open with the beat embedded in a new post when clicked. Initially, native embeds will only be available on the web, with mobile compatibility to be added in future releases.
BandLab states that this integration builds upon Airbit’s recent announcements of eliminating platform Marketplace commissions, expanding its free Basic plan, and allowing users to register and log in using their BandLab account. BandLab Technologies acquired Airbit earlier this year, and the deal was followed by a $25 million funding round, bringing BandLab’s post-money valuation to $425 million.
In August, BandLab Technologies unveiled a comprehensive rebrand and launched a new corporate website to serve as a central hub for its music technology offerings. Meng Ru Kuok, CEO and Co-founder of BandLab Technologies expressed the importance of empowering BandLab creators and making it easy for them to express their talent and creativity. He described integrating with Airbit as a step towards ensuring creators feel empowered, in control, and innovative.
Kuok stated that their goal has always been to provide tools that amplify creators’ voice and vision, and this integration is another step in bringing Airbit’s beat marketplace to BandLab’s passionate community. Wasim Khamlichi, CEO and founder at Airbit called this integration a monumental step for both Airbit and BandLab, emphasizing their objective of providing creators with a platform where their work receives the recognition it deserves.
